JioStar has spearheaded a significant anti-piracy operation against ‘Rolex TV’, an illegal IPTV platform found guilty of unlawfully distributing premium content across India. Acting on JioStar’s detailed complaint, law enforcement authorities in Annamayya District, Andhra Pradesh, successfully dismantled the network, marking a major victory in the company’s ongoing fight against digital piracy.
The crackdown followed an extensive investigation by JioStar’s Distribution Business Growth team, which uncovered the app’s operations. Reports revealed that ‘Rolex TV’ offered access to over 10,000 linear channels and a vast library of global on-demand content, blatantly violating broadcast and intellectual property rights. The investigation also exposed that the operators were using Telegram to lure individuals with fake “work-from-home” offers, with one minor reportedly involved in the scheme.
Following the coordinated action, the illegal app was completely shut down, highlighting the serious social, economic, and national security implications of digital piracy.
This marks JioStar’s second major success in 2025. Earlier this year, in partnership with Gujarat Cyber Police, the company helped dismantle the BOS IPTV network-responsible for estimated losses exceeding ₹700 crore.
Reaffirming its stance, JioStar stated its commitment to collaborate with law enforcement agencies, strengthen surveillance efforts, and drive public awareness campaigns to protect India’s digital ecosystem and ensure a fair, secure environment for creators and consumers alike.
