Media and entertainment platform JioStar reported a strong financial performance in the December quarter, posting gross revenue of ₹8,010 crore and a profit after tax of ₹888 crore.
The company’s revenue from operations stood at ₹7,232 crore during the October–December period. JioStar recorded a pre-tax profit (EBITDA) of ₹1,738 crore, translating into an industry-leading margin of 28.1 per cent.
JioStar was formed following the merger of Reliance’s media business with the India operations of global entertainment major Walt Disney. The company noted that its television network reached over 830 million viewers during the quarter, generating more than 60 billion hours of watch time, according to an earnings statement issued by Reliance Industries.
The company clarified that the current results are not strictly comparable with previous periods, as JioHotstar was launched after the integration of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar on February 14, 2025.
During the December quarter, JioHotstar averaged around 450 million monthly active users (MAUs), reflecting a 13 per cent quarter-on-quarter increase. User engagement levels were nearly on par with the April–June quarter, traditionally boosted by the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to the company, JioHotstar delivered its highest-ever engagement for entertainment content in Q3 FY26. This was driven by popular properties such as Bigg Boss across multiple languages, new blockbuster series, successful movie premieres including Lokah and Mirai, and sustained growth in international content consumption.
JioStar also reported growth in its overall subscriber base, supported by higher customer acquisitions and stable retention levels. The company attributed this momentum to its robust content pipeline across sports and entertainment, alongside ongoing product and platform initiatives aimed at driving engagement and scale.
