JioStar, the official broadcast and digital partner for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India & Sri Lanka 2026, has unveiled its opening campaign film, setting the tone for India’s title defence on home soil. Marking a notable creative shift, the film features reigning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup champions Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma rallying the nation ahead of the men’s tournament.
The campaign reflects the growing stature of women’s cricket in India, with the women’s team stepping into a leadership role by backing the men’s side. The film opens with Jemimah Rodrigues recalling the night India lifted the Women’s World Cup, before urging fans to reset and believe once again as the men’s team begins its campaign. Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma join in, reinforcing the message that India has already brought one World Cup home and is determined not to let the other slip away.
Through powerful visuals, a stirring background score, and emotionally charged storytelling, the film bridges two World Cups across formats and genders. It positions one set of world champions cheering another, creating a unified narrative of belief, pride, and momentum.
Siddharth Sharma, head of sports content at JioStar, said the idea was to depict “champions cheering champions,” as India aims to become the first team to defend the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title at home. The campaign seeks to energise fans and build anticipation for a historic tournament.
With this initiative, JioStar not only promotes the upcoming World Cup but also reinforces the evolving cultural relevance of women’s cricket, using it as a powerful force to unite and inspire the nation ahead of one of the biggest sporting events of 2026.
