MakeMyTrip is commemorating its 25th anniversary with a nostalgic brand film starring Bollywood icons Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The film traces India’s evolving travel landscape and highlights how the company has transformed the industry since its founding in April 2000.
The narrative follows Alia and Ranveer reminiscing about childhood vacations while journeying through different travel eras—from spontaneous trips and cyber cafe bookings to today’s mobile app convenience. Looking ahead, they playfully imagine booking Mars trips through MakeMyTrip in the next 25 years.
When MakeMyTrip launched, it faced significant hurdles including low internet penetration and skepticism around digital transactions. The company’s mission was to simplify travel planning through technology, a vision that has expanded dramatically over time.
Today, MakeMyTrip offers comprehensive services beyond flights and hotels, including holiday packages, alternative accommodations, transportation options, forex services, travel insurance, and visa assistance across its platforms—MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, and redBus.
The company’s impressive statistics reflect its market impact: 80 million lifetime customers, over 490 million app downloads, and approximately 230 transactions processed per minute.
“This milestone belongs to every traveler who has trusted us,” notes Rajesh Magow, co-founder and group CEO. “As we look ahead, we remain committed to pushing boundaries and creating even more enriching travel experiences.”
