Mumbai Indians has announced a multi-year partnership with Nike, naming the sportswear brand its official kit partner for both the men’s and women’s teams in India, starting with the 2027 season. Nike will provide match kits, training apparel and sportswear for players, coaches and technical staff. The association will also extend to products and storytelling linked to Mumbai’s sporting and cultural identity.

Players and staff will begin wearing Nike team apparel this month, while the men’s and women’s teams are expected to unveil their new kits ahead of their respective 2027 seasons. Fans will also be able to buy additional apparel inspired by the team and the city, as both brands aim to connect sport and culture through merchandise and fan engagement.

Tarundeep Singh, general manager, Nike India, said cricket is woven into the heartbeat of India and few teams capture its energy like Mumbai Indians. He added that the club’s ambition and belief drew Nike to the partnership, which reflects its continued investment in cricket in India. Devang Bhimjyani, head, Reliance Sports, said the team is about more than cricket, built on nurturing talent and playing for a city that never stops, and that Nike shares its belief in the power of sport.

Tilak Varma, a Nike athlete and member of the Mumbai Indians men’s team, said bringing the two families together feels personal. He said wearing the MI colours with the Nike Swoosh will remind him of how far he has come, and hoped young fans in the nets would see the team and think, “That could be me.”
