Ormax Media, a leading media insights and consulting firm, has introduced Ormax StreamView, a weekly syndicated report designed to answer the crucial question: “What is India watching on OTT?” The product provides independent, third-party viewership data for India’s rapidly growing streaming ecosystem, where platform disclosures are inconsistent and no standardized measurement exists.
Ormax StreamView ranks the top 50 most-watched OTT properties for the previous week (Monday to Sunday) and is released every Tuesday, with the subscription cycle starting on January 5, 2026. The report covers long-form content including OTT originals, theatrical films, GEC programming, sports, news, and non-fiction, while excluding short-form videos such as reels, shorts, or trailers. A “view” is defined as an individual watching at least 30 minutes of a property in a week.
The methodology combines a three-step hybrid approach: an OTT Viewership Tracker via online surveys, Ormax’s in-house OTT Panel logging daily viewing, and statistical projections anchored on India’s OTT audience universe, based on the annual Ormax OTT Audience Report. Currently, over 2,500 respondents per week are tracked, with plans to scale to 5,000+ by mid-2026. From April 2026, the report will expand to include audience-segmented insights, such as gender, geography, media affluence, and Connected TV users.
Shailesh Kapoor, Founder & CEO, Ormax Media, said, “OTT is mainstream, but the industry lacks a consistent, independent view of what audiences are truly watching. Ormax StreamView brings clarity, comparability, and credibility to OTT reporting in India.” Keerat Grewal, Head of Business Development, added that the platform will enable content creators, advertisers, and agencies to make data-driven decisions, helping the ecosystem understand viewership trends across formats, genres, and regions, week after week.
Ormax StreamView represents a significant step toward standardising OTT analytics in India’s fragmented streaming landscape.
