The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) has announced that renowned advertising leader, poet-lyricist, and creative icon Prasoon Joshi will be honoured with the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award for 2025. Established in 1988, this award is the highest accolade bestowed by the Indian advertising industry, recognising individuals who have shaped the profession and inspired creative excellence over decades.
Joshi, the CEO and CCO of McCann Worldgroup India and Chairman for the Asia Pacific region, has been a defining force in Indian advertising for nearly 30 years. His body of work-marked by cultural depth, emotional clarity, and a commitment to authenticity-has significantly influenced modern brand storytelling. Beyond advertising, Joshi’s contributions to cinema as a lyricist and screenwriter have earned him multiple honours, including the Padma Shri, cementing his place as one of India’s foremost creative voices.
Srinivasan K Swamy, President of AAAI, noted that Joshi’s unique ability to fuse insight, emotion, and cultural nuance has elevated Indian advertising globally. He added that honouring Joshi celebrates not only his professional achievements but also his impact on India’s creative conscience. Jaydeep Gandhi, Chairman of the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award Committee, described Joshi’s career as a testament to the power of ideas, integrity, and artistic sensitivity, adding that the committee was unanimous in selecting him for the award.
The honour will be presented at a special ceremony in the coming weeks. The AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award recognises leaders with over 25 years of contributions to creativity, industry advancement, ethical practice, and social impact. Past recipients include icons such as Piyush Pandey, Sam Balsara, Alyque Padamsee, Roda Mehta, and others.
