Network18, one of India’s largest media conglomerates, has announced significant leadership appointments with Puneet Singhvi named as Chief Strategy Officer for the group and Mitul Sangani appointed as CEO for News18 Digital.
In his new role, Singhvi will oversee multiple critical functions including the Centre of Excellence, Central Product & Tech, Partnerships & Off-platform businesses, and Admin & Operations at the group level. He will report directly to Rahul Joshi, Managing Director at Network18 Media.
Sangani, previously CEO for Indian languages businesses, will now lead product, technology, audience growth and revenue operations for News18 & Local18. The sales teams for News18.com and Local18 will report to him, while he will work closely with Joshi while continuing to report to Avinash Kaul for digital revenues.
Meanwhile, Avinash Kaul, who serves as Chief Executive Officer for Network18 (Broadcast), will continue overseeing the broadcast business for Indian languages.
In an internal communication, Joshi emphasized that Network18’s digital business has experienced significant growth, positioning the company as one of the industry’s largest players in terms of audience and revenue. He identified Moneycontrol, Firstpost, and News18 as key strategic priorities for the coming year.
Joshi highlighted the need for dedicated brand-focused teams and emphasized that strategic thinking, innovation, AI adoption, cost discipline, and operational efficiencies would be core components of the company’s business strategy going forward.
