Myntra has unveiled a clever new advertising campaign featuring Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Triptii Dimri that playfully warns consumers about the “dangers” of looking too good in Myntra outfits. The “Fashion With Caution” campaign presents a humorous “public apology” from the actors to those who’ve experienced unexpected consequences from their standout style choices.
Through a series of comedic scenarios, the campaign showcases the powerful impact of Myntra’s “Shop by Occasion” feature. In Ranbir’s film, characters face amusing predicaments: Abhay misses his flight because his trendy airport look attracts too much attention, Riya gets stuck with an expensive restaurant bill when her chic outfit creates false expectations, and Rehaan loses his job after outshining his boss on the first day.
Triptii’s segment continues the theme with equally entertaining situations: Priya struggles to hail an auto-rickshaw in her too-glamorous attire, Rohan unintentionally upsets his best friend by looking better than her date, and Aarya’s stylish gym wear makes her seem unapproachable.
Abhishek Gour, Director of Brand Marketing at Myntra, explained the campaign aims to highlight how the platform makes fashion accessible while acknowledging that “looking effortlessly stylish comes with some unexpected but rather entertaining side effects.”
Both stars expressed enthusiasm for the campaign’s blend of humor and style. Ranbir noted that “looking good is easy, but dealing with the side effects of great fashion, that’s where the fun begins,” while Triptii added that the campaign “takes everyday scenarios and adds a humorous spin to the impact of great style.”
Adarsh Atal, Tilt Group CCO, revealed the campaign stemmed from the insight that “when normal people shop from Myntra they get undue attention,” leading to the creative approach of treating the ads almost like public service announcements.
