Royal Enfield marks 125 years of timeless motorcycling heritage

Royal Enfield, one of the world’s oldest motorcycle brands in continuous production, celebrates a historic milestone this year-125 years of shaping riding culture across continents. What began in 1901 as a British marque producing its first motor-bicycle has evolved into a global symbol of pure motorcycling, craftsmanship, and adventure.

To celebrate, the brand has released a two-minute animated film titled “125 years on, we’re still Made Like a Gun.”

Over the decades, Royal Enfield has built an unmatched legacy rooted in simplicity, resilience and authenticity. Iconic models such as the Bullet, Classic, Electra and Thunderbird became generational favourites, while the more recent Meteor, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and Himalayan broadened its appeal to global riders. Through each chapter, the brand has stayed true to its philosophy of creating motorcycles that feel elemental, engaging and timeless.

The company’s 125-year journey is also a story of cultural influence. In India, Royal Enfield transformed from a niche bike in the 1950s to a mass phenomenon, inspiring riding clubs, long-distance expeditions and a strong community-led movement. Its “Made Like a Gun” spirit not only shaped rider identity but also placed the company at the centre of India’s leisure motorcycling revolution.

Today, Royal Enfield operates modern manufacturing hubs, design centres in India and the UK, and a presence across 60+ countries. Its global expansion, community rides, and custom culture have positioned it as a lifestyle brand rather than just a motorcycle maker.

Marking 125 years, Royal Enfield celebrates not just a legacy of machines, but a worldwide community built on camaraderie, freedom and the joy of the open road-promising to carry that spirit into the next century of riding.

From September, Royal Enfield began offering its full 350cc series on Flipkart- marking a first for any mid-size motorcycle maker in India on Flipkart.
