Mattel has unveiled the first-ever Barbie Dream Team to mark International Women’s Day, celebrating women who have made a significant impact in their respective fields. As part of the global initiative, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has been recognised with a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll created in her likeness, representing India in the international line-up.
Mandhana becomes the first cricketer to be honoured under the Barbie Dream Team initiative. The exclusive doll has been designed to celebrate her achievements and influence in women’s cricket. Created as a tribute to her journey, the doll is not intended for retail sale and serves purely as a recognition of her impact on the sport.
Over the years, Mandhana has played an important role in raising the visibility of women’s cricket in India. She holds the distinction of being the first Indian woman cricketer to score centuries across all three international formats-Test, One Day International and T20-marking a major milestone for the game.
