Truecaller Introduces Scamfeed to Empower Users in the Fight Against Digital Fraud

Truecaller has launched a new feature, Scamfeed, aimed at helping users identify, report, and track scams. This user-generated content feature within the app enables individuals to share information about ongoing fraud attempts, making it easier for users to stay informed and protect themselves.

Scamfeed acts as a community-driven early warning system, allowing users to report suspicious calls or messages. It helps users identify red flags associated with new types of scams, providing valuable insights into emerging fraud tactics. By enabling users to share their experiences, Scamfeed empowers individuals to learn from one another and stay ahead of fraudsters.

Tonmoy Goswami, Truecaller’s product director of new initiatives, highlighted the importance of community in combating scams: “Scamfeed harnesses the collective vigilance of millions of Truecaller users in India. It provides a safe space for people to share real experiences, empowering them to protect themselves and their loved ones.”

The feature allows users to report various types of scams, including phishing, impersonation, and financial fraud, while keeping their identities anonymous. Users can post, comment, and share updates through platforms like WhatsApp, enhancing the platform’s sense of community.

Currently live in India, Scamfeed is expected to be rolled out globally in the coming months, strengthening Truecaller’s commitment to smarter, safer communication.
