Zee Media’s Ad Revenue Surges 47.7% in Q1 FY27, Operating Revenue Up 4.7%

Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) has posted its consolidated results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, reporting operating revenue of Rs 190.85 crore, up 4.7% year-on-year from Rs 182.36 crore in Q1 FY26.

Operating expenditure came in at Rs 174.59 crore, with operating profit (EBITDA) at Rs 16.26 crore. Advertising revenue was the standout, rising 47.7% YoY to Rs 179.71 crore from Rs 121.66 crore, while subscription revenue grew 9.9% to Rs 11.14 crore from Rs 10.13 crore.

Raktim Das, CEO, Zee Media Corporation, said the quarter reflects strategic, growth-oriented steps toward realising the company’s potential as a content and technology-led organisation built on editorial strength, AI and data capabilities. He described the results as setting the runway for the company’s next growth phase – a shift from a conventional advertising-led news model to a diversified revenue stream business, with continued focus on flagship brands Zee News and Zee Business, a reimagined Zee Bharat, and WION’s global expansion.

During the quarter, Zee News and Zee 24 Ghanta delivered constituency-level coverage of the West Bengal elections, alongside coverage of polls in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry. WION hosted its Global Leadership & Innovation Summit in Sri Lanka, while the company ran 36 events across sectors including healthcare, policy and education.

Zee Media also expanded its cultural IP portfolio with Bhojpuri Samman, advanced Zee Bharat’s rebrand through initiatives like Green Champions, and continued integrating AI tools across newsroom workflows. Zee Business ranked first in YouTube VOD views among competitors in Q1, per Tubular.
