Blinkit expands ambulance services in Gurugram, targets 10-minute emergency response

Launched earlier this year with five vehicles, the Blinkit Ambulances initiative now operates 12 ambulances from six hubs, covering nearly half of Gurugram.

Quick-commerce platform Blinkit is scaling its 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram, aiming to provide critical medical help as fast as it delivers groceries. What started quietly with just five ambulances has grown into a fleet of 12 vehicles stationed at six strategically located depots across the city.

The service, piloted earlier this year, has already responded to 594 emergency calls-half of which were classified as critical. According to Blinkit, 83% of these calls saw ambulances reach the patient within 10 minutes.

Blinkit founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal called the initiative “one of the hardest and most resource-intensive challenges” the company has ever undertaken. He shared insights on social media, stating the project is deeply personal and aimed at transforming how people access emergency care.

“Blinkit Ambulances isn’t just a project-it’s a responsibility,” Goyal said. “We won’t stop until every single person trusts that life-saving help is only 10 minutes away.”

A major hurdle, Goyal noted, is public hesitation. Many still avoid calling ambulances, fearing delayed response, and instead use private vehicles during emergencies. Blinkit aims to restore trust in emergency services by proving reliability and speed.

To strengthen the initiative, Blinkit is also developing an in-house paramedic training program focused on both clinical expertise and empathetic care. The goal is to ensure not just rapid response, but quality support at a critical moment.

With the expansion, Blinkit is working toward building a city-wide emergency care model that’s both accessible and trustworthy.
