MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment UK has launched a dedicated single-IP channel for the historical drama Jodha Akbar on Samsung TV Plus in France, expanding its footprint in the region and enhancing its connected TV offerings. The move comes in response to audience engagement with Zee One in France and aims to provide a focused platform for one of Zee’s most popular international series.
Jodha Akbar, which has been distributed globally in dubbed and subtitled formats, will now have its own channel on Samsung’s free, ad-supported streaming service, accessible on Samsung TVs, Galaxy devices, and Smart Monitors. The channel is available in France on Samsung TV Plus channel 4277.
Amit Goenka, President – International and Digital Businesses, Zee Entertainment, said, “Jodha Akbar is one of Zee’s most acclaimed shows internationally. Through our partnership with Samsung TV Plus, viewers in France can experience the series as an exclusive single-IP channel, continuing our mission to bridge languages, cultures, and communities.”
Antoine Chotard, Country Lead France & MENA, Samsung TV Plus, added, “Partnering with Zee allows us to bring this culturally rich and iconic series to Samsung TV Plus in France. We are excited to launch this remarkable IP and anticipate strong engagement in the market.”
This initiative is part of Zee’s strategy to expand its global distribution through connected TV and streaming platforms, marking the company’s eighth channel launch in Europe. The dedicated channel ensures fans in France can enjoy uninterrupted access to the historical drama, reinforcing Zee’s international content leadership.
