redBus launches ‘Coupon Creator’ to boost engagement and attract new users

redBus, India’s leading online bus ticketing platform, has introduced Coupon Creator, a personalised digital feature that allows users to generate and share their own custom travel discount codes. Positioned as an industry-first, the feature aims to merge personal celebrations with seamless travel planning, strengthening user engagement while accelerating new-user acquisition.

Available exclusively on the redBus Android app, Coupon Creator lets any user design a customised coupon code-at no cost-and share it with multiple recipients. The coupons offer 15% off (up to ₹400) for new users and 2% off (up to ₹400) for existing users. This makes it ideal for a range of occasions: wedding hosts can share themed travel coupons tied to their hashtags, students can invite friends for college fests, and users can mark birthdays or personal milestones with travel-friendly discounts.

Creating a coupon is straightforward: users choose an occasion theme, craft a unique code, add their contact details, and share the coupon instantly via WhatsApp or similar platforms. Each user can generate one coupon per month, ensuring exclusivity, while each coupon remains valid for 30 days. The system automatically identifies whether the recipient is a new or existing user and applies the relevant discount.
