MY FM, the radio network of the Dainik Bhaskar Group, has expanded its Gujarat footprint with the launch of stations in Bhuj and Gandhidham, marking its entry into two new markets. With this move, MY FM becomes the first private radio broadcaster to operate in both towns. The stations were inaugurated by Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel.
The latest launches strengthen MY FM’s presence in the state and align with its broader growth strategy focused on tier-II and tier-III markets. The network has stated that it plans to scale up to a 44-station footprint across India in the next phase of expansion.
The Bhuj and Gandhidham stations will offer a blend of music, local news, interactive shows and community-driven programming. According to the network, the content will prioritise regional participation and reflect local culture, voices and issues, reinforcing radio’s role as a hyperlocal medium.
Addressing the gathering at the launch, Patel highlighted radio’s continued relevance in community engagement and public communication. He said radio remains a powerful tool to connect directly with citizens, citing initiatives such as Mann Ki Baat as examples of the medium’s reach and credibility.
The launch event was attended by members of MY FM’s leadership team, along with local officials and industry stakeholders. MY FM said the new stations will also act as platforms for local artists, entrepreneurs and businesses, enabling deeper engagement with listeners while supporting regional talent and commerce.
