The Asianet Television Awards 2026 celebrated excellence in Malayalam television while placing a strong spotlight on women empowerment through its theme, “She is the Colour.” The event highlighted the strength, resilience, and achievements of women who continue to shape and inspire the entertainment industry and society at large.
The ceremony honoured several remarkable women for their contributions to arts and culture. Among the distinguished personalities recognised was legendary playback singer Vimala Varma, widely regarded as the first Malayalam playback singer. The event also paid tribute to Padma Shri awardees Devaki Amma and Vimala Menon, acknowledging their outstanding contributions and lasting impact.
Prominent personalities from the entertainment industry were also felicitated during the evening. These included Shweta Menon, President of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists, and National Award-winning actress Surabhi Lakshmi, both celebrated for their influence and achievements in the industry.
The star-studded event witnessed the presence of several well-known actors and performers from the Malayalam film and television world. Celebrities such as Jayasurya, Vijay Babu, Asha Sarath, Lena, Esther Anil, Anumol, Akhila Bhargavan, Sarayu Mohan, Prajod Kalabhavan, Gayathri Suresh, Sabumon Abdusamad, Swasika, Tini Tom, Sijoy Varghese, Kailash, Veena Nandakumar, Sabareesh Varma, Ansiba Hassan, and Dinesh Prabhakar attended the celebration. The event was also graced by Kishan Kumar, Executive Vice President – Malayalam at JioStar.
Along with recognising outstanding achievements across multiple categories in Malayalam television, the evening featured energetic dance performances, stunt acts, and comedy skits by popular stars, making it a vibrant celebration of the industry.
The awards ceremony will be telecast on Asianet on March 14 and 15 at 7 PM, bringing the star-filled celebration to audiences across Kerala and beyond.
