Digital cricket engagement surged during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final, with sports analytics platform CREX recording over 213 million minutes of fan interaction during the high-stakes clash between India and New Zealand.
According to data released by the platform, total time spent on the CREX app reached 213.5 million minutes, marking a 24% increase compared to the engagement recorded during the 2024 World Cup final. The spike highlights how modern cricket fans increasingly rely on digital platforms for real-time statistics, insights, and match analysis while watching games.
The platform also reported a 15% rise in visitors during the 2026 final compared to the India vs South Africa final in the 2024 edition of the tournament. In addition, monthly active users climbed to around 19 million during the tournament period, reflecting a 20% increase from the roughly 16 million users recorded during the final phase of the 2024 World Cup.
User activity intensified further during the final match itself. CREX logged 56.55 million visitor sessions, a 20% increase over the sessions recorded during the previous tournament’s final.
Commenting on the growth, Purshottam Rawat, CEO of CREX, noted that major tournament finals bring together millions of fans who want more than just live scores. Fans now actively seek deeper insights, contextual statistics, and real-time analysis to enhance their viewing experience.
The engagement trends from the India–New Zealand final reflect a broader shift in sports consumption. As audiences increasingly watch matches across multiple screens, digital platforms like CREX are becoming essential companions to live broadcasts, offering fans richer data and a more immersive way to follow the game.
