Meta’s Edits App Levels Up with 130+ Features in Its First Year

Meta is doubling down on the creator economy as its mobile video editing platform, Edits, completes one year with over 130 new features added since launch.

Originally introduced on Instagram in April 2025, Edits was built as an all-in-one tool to streamline content creation-from ideation to publishing insights. Developed closely with creators, the app has evolved through continuous feedback, with regular weekly updates shaping its growth.

Over the past year, the focus has been on simplifying essential editing tasks like trimming, captioning, and audio-visual adjustments. New additions include an in-app teleprompter, script-reading tools, and voiceover support-features designed to make content production faster and more intuitive.

Beyond editing, Edits has expanded into a creative hub. The “Ideas” section allows users to save reels, audio clips, and notes, while personalized recommendations and automated suggestions help spark content inspiration. Comment insights and performance tracking further integrate post-publishing feedback into the workflow.

Looking ahead, Meta plans to introduce bilingual captioning, advanced colour grading, and speed control features. Greater customization is also in the pipeline, enabling users to tailor tool layouts and workflows to their preferences.

On the community side, creator-led templates and educational content are being scaled to help users learn and remix editing techniques. With deeper audience insights and enhanced personalization on the roadmap, Meta is positioning Edits as not just a tool-but a full-fledged ecosystem for modern content creators.
