Škoda India Says It’s the G.O.A.T. on the Track – and Has the Record to Prove It

Škoda Auto India isn’t just claiming performance supremacy – it’s putting it on the clock.

The carmaker has launched ‘G.O.A.T – Greatest On A Track’, a bold new brand campaign built around its motorsport heritage and the performance credentials of its India lineup. And it opened with a statement: a record-breaking multi-car relay at the Coimbatore Automotive Sports and Technical Training (CoASTT) track.

Under the official supervision of the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records, five Škoda models – the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Kodiaq, and Octavia RS – completed a manufacturer relay circuit in 12 minutes, 30.97 seconds, including pit-lane changeovers. It wasn’t just a marketing stunt; it was a timed, verified declaration of intent.

The campaign spotlights performance-focused attributes across Škoda’s portfolio – handling precision, braking efficiency, and driving dynamics – drawing a direct line between its global motorsport legacy and its showroom-ready vehicles in India.

“Motorsport DNA isn’t a halo for us – it is inherent, and it comes standard across our entire range,” said Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India.

The campaign also nods to the iconic RS badge, now marking over 50 years since its global debut – a lineage Škoda is clearly keen to leverage as a differentiator in India’s increasingly competitive premium car segment.
