Ogilvy Group Merges Grey and 82.5 Communications to Launch Grey 82.5

The Ogilvy Group has announced the integration of Grey and 82.5 Communications, bringing the two agencies together under a new identity, Grey 82.5. The move is aimed at strengthening the group’s second agency brand and creating a more robust offering for clients in an evolving marketing landscape.

As part of the restructuring, Kiran Ramamurthy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Grey 82.5. The agency’s creative leadership will be shared by Anuraag Khandelwal and Mayur Varma, who will serve as Joint Chief Creative Officers. Rohitash Srivastava will oversee strategy and planning in the role of Chief Strategy Officer.

Ramamurthy joined 82.5 Communications as CEO in 2024 after leading MediaMonks India as Managing Director. His career also includes leadership positions across organisations such as Ogilvy & Mather, Nova Medical Centers, and Via.

According to the Ogilvy Group, the integration combines two agencies with complementary strengths. Grey brings the legacy and global expertise of its internationally recognised “Famously Effective” network, while 82.5 Communications contributes the agility and strategic depth of a home-grown agency known for delivering impactful creative solutions for leading Indian brands.

The company believes the merger will unlock greater value by uniting talent, capabilities, and cultures from both organisations, enabling a stronger and future-ready proposition for clients.

Grey became part of WPP following the acquisition of Grey Group in 2005, while 82.5 Communications evolved from Soho Square, Ogilvy’s secondary agency brand in India, before being rebranded in 2019 as a dedicated India-focused creative agency.
