Mondelez India has taken on one of the boldest flavour bets of the year, launching Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk Dubai Chocolate, a limited-edition treat inspired by the viral Kunafa chocolate sensation that’s taken over global dessert culture and social media feeds alike.
Dubai’s Kunafa chocolate built its reputation on a distinct textural contrast: crispy kadayfi pastry layered with rich pistachio crème, delivering the kind of indulgence that travels fast online. Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk now reimagines that experience through its own smooth chocolate format, aimed squarely at Indian consumers chasing the trend without booking a flight to Dubai.
Nitin Saini, Vice President – Marketing at Mondelez India, said Silk has always stood for indulgent chocolate experiences, and the global love for Kunafa’s textures and richness made it the natural canvas to recreate that sensation locally. He added that the team worked to capture the crunch of kadaifi and the depth of pistachio crème, layered with Silk’s signature smoothness, into something distinctive in its own right.
The limited-edition bar combines Silk’s smooth chocolate shell with a layered filling of crispy kadayfi pastry and pistachio crème, built for a multi-textural bite.
The launch extends Silk’s ongoing premiumisation playbook, having long positioned itself around elevated indulgence – from gifting to personal treat-yourself moments – now folding in global dessert trends adapted for local taste.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk Dubai Chocolate is priced at ₹550, available for a limited time across quick-commerce platforms and select retail outlets – a bet on India’s growing appetite for premium, globally-inspired snacking.
