Pocket FM Shuts Down Microdrama Vertical, Refocuses on Audio Entertainment

Pocket FM is shutting down Pocket TV, its microdrama vertical, as the company refocuses on audio entertainment and international growth, according to a report by The Economic Times. The move comes as Pocket FM explores a potential public listing and works to strengthen its position in audio storytelling.

Pocket TV had marked the company’s entry into the fast-growing microdrama segment, a space that has drawn rising competition from domestic and global players alike. However, Pocket FM is choosing to consolidate resources around its core audio business, which continues to drive growth across India, the US, and Europe.

A spokesperson from the company said: “Pocket TV was launched as a beta product to explore the emerging microdrama category and is not a material contributor to Pocket FM’s business. As with any product experiment, we periodically evaluate performance and strategic fit, and any decisions related to Pocket TV are part of that normal process. Our core focus remains building the world’s leading audio entertainment platform. Audio continues to account for the overwhelming majority of our business, and we remain focused on scaling the category globally. Today, Pocket FM is one of the largest audio entertainment platforms globally and continues to see strong growth across its key international markets.”

The shift comes despite strong recent momentum, with the company crossing $400 million in annual recurring revenue in FY26 and reaching $450 million ARR by April 2026. Pocket FM operates in over 20 countries and works with more than 300,000 creators, with audio storytelling positioned as its primary growth driver going forward.
