Ahead of the sixth season of Shark Tank India, Sony LIV has unveiled a new campaign titled #DontBeATota, encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on business fundamentals rather than startup buzzwords.

Conceptualised by The Script Room, the campaign introduces Tota, a parrot who confidently throws around terms like valuation, burn rate and EBITDA, believing that jargon alone can impress investors. Through humour, the campaign highlights that successful entrepreneurship is built on solving real problems, understanding the business and executing ideas-not simply speaking the language of startups.
The initiative reinforces Shark Tank India’s core philosophy of celebrating founders with clarity, conviction and practical business knowledge. Since its debut, the show has played a significant role in bringing entrepreneurship into mainstream conversations by giving startups from across India a platform to pitch their ideas, secure investments and grow their businesses.
Commenting on the campaign, Aman Gupta, Co-founder of boAt and Founder of OFF/BEAT, said, “If repeating startup buzzwords was enough to build a business, we would all be investing in parrots. Entrepreneurship is about solving real problems, understanding your business inside out and having the resilience to keep building. That’s the kind of founders we’re excited to see in Season 6.”
With #DontBeATota, the new season aims to inspire entrepreneurs to move beyond terminology and demonstrate the substance behind their ventures. The campaign uses humour and relatable storytelling to remind founders that investors are looking for strong business ideas, sound execution and genuine passion rather than polished jargon.
Registrations for Shark Tank India Season 6 are currently open on Sony LIV. The upcoming season is co-powered by Lahori Zeera and L’Oréal Paris, with White Gold and Lal Sweets joining as partners.
