Saregama India posted strong Q1 FY27 numbers, with music and live events driving growth even as ad spend rose only marginally.
The company’s advertisement and sales promotion expenses stood at Rs 17 crore for the quarter, up slightly from Rs 16.6 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenue from operations climbed 27.4% year-on-year to Rs 263.60 crore, while profit rose 39.7% YoY to Rs 51 crore, up from Rs 36.51 crore in Q1 FY26. Adjusted EBITDA jumped 69% YoY to Rs 112.4 crore.
Music remained the company’s core growth engine, with revenue from the segment rising 39% YoY to Rs 230 crore and music EBITDA up 36% YoY to Rs 139.8 crore.
The live events business posted the sharpest growth, with revenue surging 214% YoY to Rs 16 crore. The jump was driven by a multi-format approach spanning concerts, devotional events, experiential formats, and stand-up comedy.
Profit growth came even as total expenses rose. Overall costs – including operations, employee benefits, ad spend, and other expenses – increased to Rs 196 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 169.9 crore a year earlier.
Avarna Jain, Vice Chairperson, Saregama India, said the company opened the new fiscal year on strong footing while continuing to build out its “Entertainment Flywheel.” She pointed to the company’s integrated ecosystem spanning music, video, live events, and artiste management as key to maximising the value of its IP and sustaining long-term growth.
Music remains Saregama’s largest revenue contributor as it continues expanding across its broader entertainment portfolio.
