Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund (ABSLMF) has marked Teacher’s Day with a new campaign, “The Comeback Morcha,” created in collaboration with agency AGENCY09. Rather than leaning on conventional gratitude messaging, the campaign poses a sharper question: while people remember their teachers, do they still remember the lessons those teachers taught?
That insight drives the film’s central idea. Using AI, ABSLMF brings everyday classroom objects – chalks, calculators, rulers, protractors, markers, and the blackboard – to life, staging a playful “morcha,” or rally. Together, these objects represent foundational lessons from school: solving problems, finding direction, planning ahead, identifying priorities, and moving forward one step at a time.
As the narrative shifts from classroom to adulthood, these lessons are reframed through a financial lens. Planning ahead becomes planning for long-term financial goals, while the discipline once needed to finish homework or prepare for exams becomes the discipline required to stay consistent with SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans).
Through this reframing, “The Comeback Morcha” positions Teacher’s Day as more than a day of remembrance – it becomes a prompt for reflection. The campaign suggests that the same lessons instilled by teachers years ago continue to shape how adults approach planning, investing, and building toward their financial future.
The film is currently live across digital platforms, extending ABSLMF’s broader effort to connect everyday life lessons with long-term financial behaviour, using nostalgia as an entry point into a message about disciplined, goal-based investing.
