Flipkart has unveiled its Big Billion Days Sale campaign with a nearly five-minute-long ad packed with celebrities and influencers, built around a time-loop premise where a man repeatedly transforms his life with a little help from the sale. The star-studded cast includes Rohit Sharma, Jackie Shroff, Aditya Srivastava (CID’s Inspector Abhijeet), Samay Raina, Geni Kamki, Agu Stanley Chiedozie and others.
Created by Leo, the film is essentially a mashup of micro-scenarios stitched together into one continuous narrative, each segment designed to double as a standalone edit for social media – a deliberate strategy rather than an afterthought. It’s a playbook Leo has used before: last year’s Big Billion Days ad for Flipkart featured Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, Sreeleela, Farah Khan, chef Dilip and boAt’s Aman Gupta.
Leo’s chief creative officer, Sachin Kamble, told afaqs! that juggling a large celebrity cast is far tougher than it looks, since each star needs a meaningful, personality-driven moment rather than a generic cameo. The agency spent close to three months writing, revising and coordinating schedules between Flipkart and the celebrities before shooting began.
Long-format ads are a gamble in an era of shrinking attention spans, but they’ve paid off before – Dream11’s IPL 2025 campaign by Tilt Brand Solutions, featuring several Indian cricketers alongside Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, is a recent example of the format working in a brand’s favour.
