JioHotstar Expands to Nepal with DGO

JioHotstar has expanded to Nepal through a partnership with DGO, a local streaming platform. The move follows its recent launches in the Middle East and North Africa, and earlier entries into the UK, Canada and Singapore, as the platform builds its global presence through direct launches and partnerships.

Under the deal, DGO will offer a dedicated JioHotstar section with films, originals, television shows, reality programmes and kids’ content. The launch catalogue includes films such as Bhediya, 12th Fail, Kesari Chapter 2, Super 30 and Welcome to the Jungle. Originals include Hunkkaar, Pritam & Pedro, Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot, Special Ops and Chiraiya. Viewers can also watch Bigg Boss, Koffee with Karan and India Ka Top 1 Percent, along with selected regional content in Hindi.

JioHotstar will be available on DGO’s Mobile and Plus plans, with launch pricing starting at NPR 249 per month. The service can be accessed through DGO’s website and app on iOS, Android, Android TV and Smart TV. DGO’s existing Nepali films and shows will continue alongside the new offering, with a new Nepali film added every week. Subscribers also get live international sports, including LaLiga, MotoGP and the Carabao Cup.

Amit Malhotra, head of International Business at JioStar, said the expansion combines JioHotstar’s scale with overseas demand for Indian entertainment. Roshan Niraula, CEO of DGO, called the partnership a milestone for Nepal’s wider entertainment industry.
