Kurkure has launched Ribbon Pakoda, a snack inspired by a South Indian favourite, as part of its regional product portfolio. It is made with rice flour, urad, chana and moong dals, sesame seeds and black pepper, while Guntur chilli adds a spicier kick. The snack is prepared in rice bran oil and contains no palm oil, artificial colours or artificial flavours.
Ankit Agarwal, Marketing Director, Kurkure, PepsiCo India, said consumers across South India take great pride in their food traditions, and Ribbon Pakoda evokes familiarity, nostalgia and joy. He added that the brand is reimagining an iconic regional snack through the distinctive Kurkure experience, creating products that feel both exciting and authentically local.
The launch is backed by a campaign built around the familiarity of traditional snacks and the memories of recipes made at home. The film tells the product story through a South Indian cinema-style cop setting. It will run in Kannada across television and digital, and in Tamil and Telugu across digital platforms.
Kurkure Ribbon Pakoda will be available through neighbourhood kirana stores in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It comes in 28g packs priced at Rs 10 and 56g packs priced at Rs 20.
