Smart kitchen technology brand Beyond Appliances has launched a new Father’s Day campaign, “The 1st Engineer of Our Lives,” featuring actor Jameel Khan. The film celebrates the everyday heroism of Indian fathers, who instinctively step up to fix, repair, and resolve household problems, becoming the first engineers their families ever encounter.
The campaign taps into a relatable truth: Indian fathers are natural engineers, not by qualification but by instinct. A broken tap, a wobbly fan, a flickering switch – it is invariably Dad who arrives first, toolkit ready. Their reassuring “sab ho jayega” reflects an inbuilt instinct to take charge, with the film summing up this spirit in the line that while other engineers earn their degree through study, fathers earn theirs through love.
Khan plays this archetype with warmth, appearing mid-fix in front of a broken fan, waving off his son’s offer to call a repairman with his signature “Main hoon na.” The narrative shifts when he encounters Beyond Appliances’ Plug ‘N’ Play Chimney in the kitchen and moves to take charge, only for his son to beat him to it this time, telling him to relax as it will be installed in minutes. The moment underscores the brand’s core innovation: a chimney built to eliminate the ducting, core-cutting, and professional installation typically required, offering a simpler experience for modern Indian kitchens.
Eshwar K Vikas, founder & CEO, Beyond Appliances, said fathers have always been the first engineers of their families’ lives, solving problems in their own way, and that the campaign reflects the brand’s purpose of making everyday life simpler through thoughtful innovation.
