Capri Sports’ ‘Wear Your Scars’ Turns Hockey Injuries Into Badges of Pride

Capri Sports, through its women’s sport platform The Sports Women (TSW), has launched Wear Your Scars, a campaign created in partnership with Hockey India and timed to the 16th Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup.

The campaign reframes the physical toll of hockey – turf burns, stitches and scars – as symbols of resilience and pride rather than flaws to be hidden or airbrushed away. It pushes back against conventional expectations of how women athletes are meant to look and behave, aiming to show the physical reality of competitive hockey without retouching or softening it. Every scar, the campaign argues, marks a story of sacrifice, determination and the journey behind India’s women hockey players.

The timing is significant: with the 16th FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup and the Asian Games both approaching, the campaign arrives at a pivotal moment for Indian women’s hockey. It centres on the physical and emotional challenges players face while preparing for major international tournaments, and the resilience it takes to recover from setbacks and get back on the field.

Speaking on the launch, Jinisha Sharma, Director & Promoter, Capri Sports, said every scar on a hockey field carries a story of sacrifice that has too often gone unheard, and that Wear Your Scars exists to change that. She added that through TSW, Capri Sports wants to give India’s women hockey players a platform where their toughness isn’t softened for comfort but shown exactly as it is – a campaign, she said, built on pride rather than perfection.
