Ahead of its October 2 theatrical release, Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil has launched a nationwide marketing campaign across multiple consumer touchpoints. Presented in India by TV Asahi and released in association with PVR INOX Pictures, the film’s India marketing and licensing programme is led by Black White Orange (BWO), with strategic consulting by Happening 365 Synergies.
The campaign spans out-of-home, digital, radio, experiential activations, school outreach and retail. The film has also been promoted through branded buses and auto-rickshaws in key markets. A dedicated school contact programme aims to connect with children and families, while a partnership with KidZania offers an edutainment experience built around Doraemon.
Partners across licensing, marketing, digital, outdoor, edutainment, radio and consumer products include BWO, Fanthology, Econama, KidZania, RED FM, ANA India, Nitori Japan and Yakult Danone India. The India premiere was held in Mumbai on September 26, bringing together the film’s producers, influencers, media personalities, children and families.
The film is the 45th theatrical feature in the Doraemon franchise. It releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with select 4DX screenings offering an immersive format for the deep-sea adventure. Director Tetsuo Yajima said he was delighted to bring the film to Indian audiences. He pointed to the ocean’s deepest point, 10,928 metres, which only 13 people have reached, fewer than those who have travelled to space, and invited viewers to join Doraemon and his friends on an adventure into a deep-sea world no one has seen before.
