The ad opens inside a group therapy setting, where three anthropomorphised sperm characters recount tales of their unfulfilled reproductive destinies.
Leading the group is “Mister Bate,” who mournfully recalls meeting his end in a washroom, surrounded by tissues.
Next is “Wank Sinatra,” whose story involves being left in a sock under a bed-with lubricant as his only company.
Then there’s “Rubber Downey Jr,” who nearly fertilised an egg that “winked at him,” only to end up “tied in a latex knot.” His dramatic delivery adds another layer of comedy to the cleverly named trio.
The absurdity of the session sets the stage for Durex’s sharp punchline:
“Abandoned sperms are still better than abandoned children.”
