Emami, ITC, Britannia and Orkla India are among the FMCG companies interested in acquiring a significant stake in healthy snacking brand Farmley, according to an Economic Times report. The deal could value the company at around Rs 2,000 crore. A group of early investors holding a combined 31% has put its shares on the block, including Omnivore Partners, DSG Consumer Partners, Alkemi Growth Capital, Insitor Partners, Indigram Labs and Trifecta Capital.
It is unclear whether founders Akash Sharma and Abhishek Agarwal will also sell their 32% holding, which could turn the transaction into a majority stake sale. A source said Farmley is exploring a dual-track process, ranging from a minority divestment to a majority sale. KPMG is advising the initial investors, with preliminary bids expected by the end of October. L Catterton, which holds 21%, is unlikely to sell.
Founded in 2017 by IIT alumni Sharma and Agarwal, Farmley began as a B2B supplier of dry fruits and nuts before turning to a consumer-facing D2C model in 2021. In 2025, L Catterton invested around Rs 194 crore in its Series C round for a 21% stake, valuing the company at Rs 944 crore. Farmley’s revenue stood at Rs 396 crore in FY25, up 72% from Rs 230 crore in FY24, and is expected to reach Rs 700-750 crore in FY27. About 80% of sales come from online channels, including e-commerce and quick commerce.
The founders and most interested companies did not respond to queries, while ITC declined to comment. The interest reflects a wider trend, with FMCG players increasingly acquiring emerging and premium food brands rather than building them in-house.
