Creators Can Now See How Their Social Content Performs on Google Search

Google has rolled out a new Search Console feature that lets creators and publishers track how their content on Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube performs across Google Search and Discover. The update pushes Search Console beyond its traditional website-analytics roots, giving users a single dashboard to see how audiences discover their social and video content through Google.

The new property type, called platform properties, is built for creators and publishers who spread their content across multiple platforms, including those without a dedicated website. It follows an earlier testing phase and will roll out gradually over the coming weeks.

Once verified, users can track clicks, impressions and the search queries driving traffic to their posts. The Performance report lets users filter results by post or search term, with options to export data for deeper analysis.

Google has also added an Insights report, offering a quick snapshot of recent traffic trends, top-performing posts, and how audiences are finding an account via Google Search. A new Achievements section rounds out the update, flagging milestones like crossing new click thresholds from Search over the past 28 days.

To set it up, users simply create a platform property in Search Console, choose from the supported platforms, and verify their account securely.

The move reflects a broader shift: creators and publishers increasingly build audiences through social and video platforms rather than standalone websites, and Google wants Search Console to reflect that reality.

The rollout will continue in phases, with Google inviting feedback via Search Console and the Google Search Central Community.
