India Today Group Enters Micro dramas with Life Tak and a Ramayan Retelling

The India Today Group has launched Life Tak, a mobile-first microdrama platform built around short-form fiction and infotainment. The move takes the group beyond news and into the fast-growing world of vertical, bite-sized storytelling designed for digital audiences.

The platform’s first series, ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ (RRRR), was unveiled at the India Today Conclave 2026 in Mumbai. Its teaser was launched by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Aroon Purie, chairman and editor-in-chief of the India Today Group. The series reinterprets the Ramayan in a vertical, short-form format, blending the traditional narrative with a contemporary production style and storytelling approach.

Technology will play a central role in how Life Tak creates its content. According to the group, the platform will use AI-driven visual engineering, script-generation tools and creative world-building as part of its production process, giving it a distinct approach to making short-form fiction at scale.

‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ will premiere on October 18, 2026. Episodes will be available on Life Tak’s Instagram, YouTube and Facebook channels, as well as within the Aaj Tak app, ensuring the series reaches viewers wherever they already spend their time online.
