Mankind Pharma has launched a nationwide preventive healthcare initiative titled ‘Act at 30 – It’s Time for a Heart Check’, aiming to encourage Indians to begin cardiovascular screening from the age of 30.
The campaign is built around growing medical evidence indicating a rise in early-onset hypertension and heart-related risks among younger adults in India. According to the company, factors such as stress, sedentary lifestyles, urban living, unhealthy diets, and genetic predisposition are contributing to cardiovascular issues appearing much earlier than before.
Mankind Pharma stated that a large-scale survey involving over 20,000 healthcare professionals, including physicians and cardiologists, found that more than 90% of doctors recommend beginning heart health screening at the age of 30. However, the company noted that India currently lacks a widely adopted national framework establishing age 30 as a standard preventive screening milestone.
Through the initiative, the company is encouraging individuals to undergo baseline cardiovascular assessments that include blood pressure, blood glucose, lipid profile, and obesity-related risk evaluations. The aim is to identify early warning signs before they progress into serious conditions such as heart attacks, stroke, or kidney disease.
According to Mankind Pharma, more than 100,000 individuals have already been screened under the programme across tests including ECG, blood pressure, and lipid profiling.
Commenting on the initiative, Sudipta Roy, Senior President – Sales and Marketing at Mankind Pharma, said early diagnosis remains one of the biggest challenges in tackling cardiovascular disease among younger populations.
The company plans to further expand the campaign through workplace wellness programmes, community screenings, and public awareness initiatives across India.
