Marico Limited has announced the launch of Parachute Advansed Protein Shampoo, marking the brand’s first significant entry into the hair cleansing category. The move extends Parachute Advansed’s long-established coconut equity into a new format, targeting the growing consumer preference for nature-forward personal care solutions.
The new range is built around a differentiated core proposition – preventing protein loss in hair. The lead variant combines coconut milk with aloe vera, while the broader portfolio draws on natural ingredients including rosemary, amla, shikakai, and almond, each addressing specific consumer needs such as hair fall control, shine, and damage repair. The range launches with eight variants across multiple pack sizes, from an accessible Re. 1 entry sachet to 1.2L formats, available across general trade, modern trade, and e-commerce.
Ashish Goupal, CEO of Marico’s India Core Business, described the launch as the company’s most significant category extension in recent years, noting that the move positions the brand within India’s shampoo market – valued at over Rs. 10,000 crore and growing at 9 to 10 percent annually.
CMO Vikram Karwal added that the product was built on deep local consumer insight and crafted specifically for Indian hair needs. The launch is backed by a multi-format marketing plan spanning television, digital, creator-led collaborations, and regional platforms.
The shampoo portfolio is expected to become a meaningful contributor to Parachute Advansed’s overall growth as Marico deepens its presence across the full hair care regimen.
