Netflix and hoichoi have entered a content partnership under which hoichoi series premiering over the next two years will stream on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The deal takes hoichoi’s Bengali stories to audiences across more language markets.
The partnership covers 14 existing hoichoi titles, including Madam Inspector, Sampurna, Lajja, Eken Sirji, Anjaan Saaye, The Curse of Parnashavari, Bloodlines, The Adventures of Daadi & Jagga, Raat Abhi Baaki Hain, Achinta: Trial By Law, Shaadi Ka Siyappa, Queens, Parineeta: A Love Story and Mahanagar. The slate spans crime thrillers, detective mysteries, folklore horror, social and courtroom dramas, and romance.
New hoichoi releases will also arrive on Netflix in the three languages alongside their Bengali premieres on hoichoi. The first title under the arrangement is The Cursed Temple of Kauriburi, a folklore horror series starring Jeetu Kamal, Solanki Roy and Paoli Dam, premiering on November 6.
Netflix and hoichoi will also work on original series produced by hoichoi Studios, based on select hoichoi stories. The adaptations will bring new creative perspectives, with further details to be announced. The move creates a route for select stories to travel beyond their original Bengali versions and into new series for wider audiences.
