Veteran journalist Palki Sharma has officially announced the launch of India Global Review (IGR), a new digital-first global media platform focused on world affairs through an Indian lens.
The launch marks a major shift in Sharma’s career after her exit from Network18, where she served as Managing Editor and hosted popular global affairs programming. Known for shows like Gravitas and Vantage, Sharma is now stepping into the role of media entrepreneur with a platform designed for international news, analysis, and storytelling.
Headquartered in India, IGR plans to expand across key global markets including the United States, Europe, West Asia, South Asia, and Africa. The platform will be available across digital platforms as well as connected television (CTV) ecosystems, reflecting the growing shift towards cross-platform news consumption.
According to the announcement, the venture has already secured backing from institutional investors, giving the company a strong foundation as it prepares to scale operations globally. IGR has also started hiring across editorial, production, digital, and technical roles to build an international newsroom network.
Speaking about the launch, Sharma said the platform aims to bring “clarity, context, and perspective” to global affairs at a time when media ecosystems are increasingly polarised.
The move highlights a larger industry trend where high-profile journalists are moving beyond traditional newsrooms to create independent, personality-led media brands with global ambitions.
With India Global Review, Palki Sharma is positioning herself at the intersection of journalism, digital media, and global storytelling.
