Parle-G’s Lohri Film Explores Belonging, Roots, and the Meaning of Home

Parle-G has unveiled a new Lohri-themed brand film that reflects on questions of belonging, migration, and family choices, using the festival as a backdrop to explore what home truly represents. Set in a Punjabi village, the film tells a quiet, emotionally grounded story of a family at a crossroads.

The narrative centres on a household debating whether to move abroad in pursuit of better opportunities or stay rooted in familiar surroundings. Conversations around paperwork, children’s futures, and financial prospects unfold naturally, mirroring discussions taking place in many Indian homes today. As the family prepares for Lohri, the festival becomes a moment of pause-encouraging reflection on what progress, happiness, and fulfilment really mean.

Instead of relying on spectacle or dramatic storytelling, the film draws its strength from everyday moments: intergenerational exchanges, shared meals, and conversations around the Lohri bonfire. The festival is portrayed not merely as a ritual, but as a collective experience that brings clarity, reassurance, and emotional grounding.

Commenting on the campaign, Mayank Shah, Vice President – Marketing, Parle Products, said that Lohri symbolizes hope, gratitude, and togetherness-values that have long been central to Parle-G. He added that the film aims to present a relatable truth: happiness does not always lie in leaving things behind, but often in nurturing relationships and shared values. Finding joy in the happiness of others, he noted, is where true fulfilment begins.

The film concludes with the family coming together around the Lohri fire, reinforcing themes of continuity, emotional bonds, and cultural roots. Conceptualised by Thought Blurb Communications, the campaign positions Parle-G as a silent companion to moments that define home, togetherness, and belonging.
