In a move that feels straight out of a power-play business drama, Reliance Retail has acquired Anomaly, the global haircare brand founded by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The deal hands Reliance full ownership of the brand’s trademarks, assets, and digital ecosystem, strengthening its fast-growing beauty and personal care portfolio.
Launched in 2021, Anomaly quickly carved a niche with its clean, vegan formulations and accessible pricing. With a presence already spanning North America and the UK, the brand blends performance-driven products with conscious beauty values-something today’s consumers increasingly demand.
Reliance plans to supercharge Anomaly’s reach using its extensive retail network and digital platforms, including Tira. India is set to become a key focus market, with tailored products designed for local hair and scalp needs, while international expansion across the Middle East and Western markets will continue.
Isha Ambani called the acquisition a strategic step toward building a portfolio of high-growth, new-age beauty brands. She highlighted Anomaly’s strong global identity and affordability as key strengths that align with Reliance’s vision.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas isn’t stepping away-she will continue as creative director, guiding innovation and brand storytelling. She described the partnership as a new chapter that will take Anomaly to a wider audience worldwide.
Backed by the scale of Reliance Industries, this acquisition signals a clear intent-Reliance isn’t just entering the beauty game, it’s aiming to dominate it.
