Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. (RRVL) reported an 8.2% year-on-year increase in revenue for the first quarter of FY27, driven by strong growth in digital commerce, expanding store presence and steady demand across key consumption categories.

Revenue from operations for the April–June quarter stood at Rs 79,745 crore, up from Rs 73,720 crore in the corresponding period last year. While revenue grew, profitability remained under pressure. EBITDA slipped 1.1% year-on-year to Rs 6,309 crore, while profit after tax declined 14.2% to Rs 2,806 crore.

During the quarter, Reliance Retail strengthened its nationwide footprint by opening 252 new stores, taking its total store count to 20,169 with a retail area of 78.4 million square feet.

The company’s digital commerce business continued to gain momentum. Grocery orders more than doubled, with average daily digital orders rising 116% year-on-year. Overall, Reliance Retail processed 568 million transactions during the quarter, reflecting a 46% increase over the previous year, highlighting growing customer engagement across both online and offline channels.

The consumer electronics segment also posted healthy growth, with like-for-like store revenue increasing 16%. In fashion, digital commerce contributed 27.3% of apparel and footwear sales, while fashion platform Shein crossed 30 million app installs. Meanwhile, Ajio Luxe expanded its premium retail presence to over 1,000 stores.

Commenting on the performance, Isha Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd., said the company delivered a resilient quarter, supported by growth across core consumption categories. She added that continued investments in digital commerce, an expanding customer base and the company’s omnichannel capabilities will help Reliance Retail strengthen its position and serve consumers more effectively across India.
