Samsung’s streaming service, Samsung TV Plus, has launched a new free ad-supported streaming (FAST) channel titled ‘Kings of Comedy’ in India, further strengthening its Hindi entertainment offering.
The channel curates popular Hindi comedy shows including Comedy Nights with Kapil, Khatra Khatra Khatra, and Comedy Nights Bachao, bringing together familiar content in a single, genre-focused destination. Available on Samsung Smart TVs, the channel can be accessed without any subscription or login, directly through the TV interface.
The launch aligns with Samsung TV Plus completing five years in India, during which the platform has seen significant growth. It reports a 42% rise in monthly active users along with a more than twofold increase in viewing hours. Currently, the service offers over 180 channels across 14 languages, covering genres such as news, movies, entertainment, and infotainment.
Positioned as part of its broader Hindi general entertainment expansion, Kings of Comedy reflects the platform’s strategy of simplifying content discovery through curated, single-genre channels within the FAST ecosystem.
Kunal Mehta, head of Business Development at Samsung TV Plus India, highlighted that comedy remains central to Indian entertainment consumption. He emphasised the platform’s focus on making familiar content easily accessible-eliminating barriers like subscriptions or logins.
Globally, Samsung TV Plus has scaled to over 100 million monthly active users and more than 4,500 channels, signalling strong momentum for FAST platforms as a frictionless, content-first viewing experience continues to gain traction.
