Sebamed has launched its #SpotThe5.5 campaign to celebrate ‘pH 5.5 Day’ on May 5, reinforcing awareness around the importance of maintaining the skin’s natural pH balance.
Built around Sebamed’s long-standing scientific positioning, the campaign highlights pH 5.5 as the ideal benchmark for supporting the skin’s natural protective barrier, also known as the acid mantle. Since healthy skin typically maintains a slightly acidic pH between 4.5 and 6.0, this balance plays a critical role in protecting against external irritants and preserving overall skin health.
At the centre of the initiative is an interactive scavenger hunt that encouraged consumers to “spot” instances of 5.5 in everyday life. From tracking 5.5 km fitness runs and noticing ₹550 grocery bills to spotting 5:50 on digital clocks or identifying 5.5g nutritional values, participants were invited to share their discoveries as part of the digital campaign.
The initiative was brought to life through a video campaign featuring real consumer stories under the message: “We Couldn’t Stop Seeing 5.5.”
Speaking about the campaign, Philip Kuncheria said the initiative reflects the brand’s mission to educate consumers on skin science and encourage informed personal care choices.
He noted that Sebamed’s pH 5.5 formulations are specifically engineered to mirror the skin’s natural acid mantle, making them especially suitable for sensitive skin.
To further amplify the message, the brand partnered with lifestyle and parenting influencers who encouraged audiences to check the pH levels of their skincare products.
With #SpotThe5.5, Sebamed continues to strengthen its positioning as a science-led skincare brand, shifting conversations beyond beauty trends toward long-term skin health and smarter everyday skincare habits.
