Sony Pictures Networks India Bags Exclusive Rights To Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has secured exclusive media rights for the 23rd Commonwealth Games, set to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026. The Games will be broadcast live across Sony Sports Network channels and streamed on Sony LIV throughout the Indian subcontinent.

India enters the edition riding high on momentum from Birmingham 2022, where the country delivered a career-best showing – 61 medals, including 22 gold, to finish fourth overall. With a fresh crop of athletes joining established stars, expectations for another record campaign in Glasgow are running high.

This edition marks a new format for the Games – leaner and more athlete-centric, featuring ten sports and a record-sized integrated Para sport programme spanning 47 medal events across six disciplines. The sporting line-up includes Athletics, Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling, Netball, Weightlifting, Boxing, Judo, Bowls and 3×3 Basketball.

SPNI has committed to expert analysis, multilingual coverage and comprehensive programming to bring fans every key moment, from the opening ceremony to India’s medal-winning performances.

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head – Sports and International at SPNI, said the Commonwealth Games hold a unique place in India’s sporting calendar, and the network is committed to a world-class broadcast that captures the country’s growing sporting ambitions.

Katie Sadleir, Chief Executive of Commonwealth Sport, welcomed the continued partnership with Sony, noting it will help millions of Indian fans follow the athletes and stories that define the Games – with anticipation already building toward the Centenary Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030.
