Tata Consultancy Services has renewed its title partnership with Jaguar TCS Racing, extending a five-year collaboration and taking on an expanded role as the team’s official AI partner as Formula E moves into its GEN4 era.
The renewal builds on a partnership that has already merged digital technology, data, and engineering with the global reach of electric motorsport. Under the expanded deal, AI will be applied across racing operations and engineering, with insights expected to feed directly into the development of future Jaguar electric vehicles.
The timing follows a strong season for the team, which claimed the Teams’ World Championship for the second time in three years, backed by four wins and ten podium finishes.
TCS’s Global CMO Abhinav Kumar said the partnership demonstrates what can be achieved when teams combine their capabilities around innovation. JLR Motorsport chairman Chris Thorp echoed that sentiment, framing the tie-up as central to advancing performance and innovation both on track and in future road cars.
Central to the collaboration is TCS’s Virtual Vehicle Validation Model, which lets engineers simulate and validate changes at the pace motorsport demands. Since Jaguar’s Formula E debut in 2016, the team has racked up over 20 wins and 60 podiums.
Beyond racing, the partnership carries an education angle – TCS’s Ignite My Future program has engaged nearly 30,000 students globally in racing-related data, design and strategy work since 2023, adding a talent-development dimension to the alliance.
Ultimately, the deal positions TCS’s AI capabilities as a bridge between racetrack performance and real-world EV innovation – a “race to road” narrative TCS is eager to tell.
