The One Club for Creativity has announced the winners of its first “Get Out the Vote” brief, a free global challenge that asked college students to design non-partisan campaigns to boost voter participation. Run by the club’s Young One Student Awards and Education department, the competition offered $15,000 in prizes and favoured no candidate, party or belief.
The $5,000 grand prize went to the Off the Record team at Openlearn Academy for “Yes, Everything is Politics.” The campaign tagged everyday objects with scannable context, showing how politics shapes things like concert ticket prices and public benches. Two runners-up each won $2,500: “Every Price is a Policy” from Openlearn Academy Seoul, and “You Choose” from Dupla Shot at Universidad Europea de Madrid. Five finalists took home $1,000 each, and 38 honorable mentions were also awarded.
Entries were judged by 18 senior creative leaders, many of them veterans of One Show and ADC Annual Awards juries. Students could work in print, video, social media or activation, addressing themes of participation, relevance or community. Kevin Swanepoel, CEO of The One Club, said young creatives were challenged not to lecture peers but to use their own language, culture and humour to make voting feel relevant.
Beyond the prize money, top winners will be featured on The One Club’s channels and considered for out-of-home placements, including digital billboards. All winners, finalists and honorable mentions receive a free one-year membership. Top US entries are planned to run during the final stretch of the November midterm elections.
