Vi has entered a strategic partnership with Spotify, combining the telecom operator’s connectivity with the streaming platform’s premium audio content to strengthen its digital entertainment offering.
As part of the tie-up, eligible Vi Postpaid customers will get complimentary access to Spotify Premium for three months at no extra cost upon activating or retaining qualifying plans. The two companies said they plan to explore further collaboration opportunities to expand entertainment offerings down the line.
The partnership fits into Vi’s broader push to layer premium lifestyle and entertainment services onto its telecom ecosystem. Through the offer, eligible postpaid users gain Spotify Premium features including ad-free listening across more than 100 million tracks, offline downloads of songs, playlists and albums, access to over seven million podcast titles, unlimited skips, and audio streaming quality of up to 320 kbps. The bundled experience is designed to fit into everyday scenarios like commuting, working out, travelling and general entertainment consumption.
Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer, Vi, said music is central to customers’ digital lives, and that the Spotify partnership builds on Vi’s history of working with global entertainment leaders to strengthen its content mix and stand out to subscribers.
Amarjit Batra, Managing Director, Spotify India, called this Spotify’s first telco partnership of its kind in India, aimed at making Premium more accessible to music and podcast fans while creating long-term value for artists, creators and the broader music industry in the country.
Users who haven’t previously subscribed to Spotify can activate the complimentary offer through the Vi App.
